William Fevre Feature

Filter
Fevre wines are some of the most reliable in Burgundy and age exceptionally well. Just recently I was presented with a wine I picked as a classic chablis (it was so good and so classic, it was easy), but I picked it as a 2017, and it turned out to be a 2010 Fevre!
It was so deep, strong and youthful that I was awe-inspired!
The Fevre domaine and negoce business is owned by the Henriot family and Atemis (so Ch. Latour, Bouchard and Clos de Tart are also in the portfolio). Fevre domaine wines are ALL harvested by hand (according to Jasper Morris) and they always over-deliver in quality.
Regarding the 2020 vintage Fevre's chief winemaker Didier Séguier says, “the 2020 has the freshness of 2017, and the concentration and the expression of 2019,” and he is very surprised by the lower alcohols and higher acidity than 2018 and 2019, even though it was a warm and early harvest. He adds that 2020 is “a vintage that expresses a superb minerality and freshness with a nice intensity of fruit and especially citrus fruit characters.”
    Cheers, Randall.
