His first vintage of his own label Cornas debuted in 1997. The Domaine now extends to a modest 5 hectares, split across 15 parcels, including the prized Cornas lieux-dits: Bayonnet, Les Côtes, Le Combes, Chaillots, and Saveaux. In addition to a straight, mostly-destemmed Cornas, Michel produces a fascinating and delicious St Peray (1ha) from equal parts Marsanne and Roussanne - a fun, textural experience great on its own but even better with food.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIn particularly good years a Cornas cuvee “Mère Michel” (produced exclusively from Serine clones in new oak) are produced, and we were lucky enough to receive this rare and tiny allocation below.
