"The 2018 Produttori Barbaresco is contains all your favourite Crus blended together! So it's a "must cellar" for all savvy Piedmonte lovers. "P del B" has long been a favourite for its reliably ageworthy that hit will above their pricepoint. Indeed, this may well be the last year we see this excellent wine under $100 ... a steal for such a strong and radiant Nebbiolo that will outlive much of its Barolo Normale competition. Before producers began to make single-vineyard or Cru wines in the region, all of their top sites were blended into one cuvee. With a decision being made in 2018 to not make any Riserva wines and produce this one Barbaresco Classico (and declassify to "Nebbiolo" what would have normally gone into the Barbaresco), Produttori have made an exceptional 'old-school' wine that has all the power, beauty, and structure of their Riserva wines at half the price. I have recently been privileged to try some older P del B wines and the 2018 is very much in the same mould. A classico wine that may well outlive me!" - Randall

"Lovely barbaresco, with all the typical nebbiolo characteristics, such as red berries, mushrooms and dried leaves, as well as hints of bitter orange peel and spice. All this follows through to the medium-to full-bodied palate, where fine, lightly firm tannins add a little grip and additional focus. Compact, but bursting with flavor. Delicious now, but give it a year or two. It will only get better." 93pts - James Suckling

"The 2018 Barbaresco is an attractive, open-knit wine to drink now and over the next 10-15 years, maybe more. In 2018 the Produttori did not bottle their Riservas. Instead, all of the best lots of those grapes went into the straight Barbaresco bottling, another in a long string of successes from this historic house. Dark cherry, cedar, tobacco and spice fill out the layers. There is good depth and a good deal of tannin too." 92pts - Antonio Galloni, vinous.com
