"Vincent Prudhon succinctly described the 2019 growing season as "one where the early April frost did a lot of damage here in St. Aubin and we were down fully 40% relative to a normal crop. The fruit was at least extremely clean and quite ripe so there was very little sorting required. Potential alcohols averaged about 13% for the reds but notably higher at 13.5 to 14.5% for the whites. Unlike the 2018s where it was necessary to be very vigilant, we had no trouble with any of the fermentations as it's always easier when the fruit is so clean. As to the style of the 2019s, they're ripe but fresher than the 2018s with even better terroir transparency."
