Excellent. \u003cstrong\u003e93 points - Neal Martin, Vinous\u003c\/strong\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eThe \u003cem\u003eClos des  Perrières\u003c\/em\u003e is a 1ha square of pristine and sheltered old vines almost plumb in the middle of the lower and better section of the \u003cem\u003ePerrières\u003c\/em\u003e 1er Cru site.\u003cstrong\u003e \u003cbr\u003eIt is the holy grail of Meursault - a tiny monopole that makes better wine than many producers' Grand Crus.\u003c\/strong\u003e It's a plot on the same contour line as Montrachet, with the same aspect and the same geology; a mix of 3 soil types, clay, limestone and sandy clay. \u003cstrong\u003eThis wine is the very essence of Meursault\u003c\/strong\u003e in all its luxurious richness while retaining a little more tension, a Les Clos-like drive and intense minerality unique to site.
