2021 Domaine de l'Aste Santenay 1er Cru Beaurepaire 750Ml Bottle

This is the slightly higher site of the two 1er Crus and the soil here has slightly more clay content. This plot was purchased in 1989, and then re-planted in 1991.The Moreau patch is mid slope with a great SE exposition. The white clay limestone with mother Jurassic rock is the same as the Cote de Nuits. It is almost a luscious wine with a firm restraining belt of tannin and acid keeping the rich fruit from becoming flabby. A lovely balance of fine tannins, fruit and minerality makes it Volnay-like.
