Purchased in 1968 and replanted in 1981, this parcel also has a SE exposition with similar “Cote de Nuits” soil structure. However, it is 300mt above sea level so has very cool nights during the ripening months and it is a wine with more “charpenté” or structure, and it’s more closed when young.  Of course, it still has fleshy richness and sweet opulent fruit.
This has a rich and inviting nose of dark cherries, raspberries and spice, balanced with herbal notes. On the palate, fine, firm tannins are beautifully woven through. It is the "big guy, but very pure, long, spicy, very elegant with refined tannins, and with red-berries; it’s not overripe!”, he says.
