Like the Pinot Noir, the Rippon Lolo's Block Riesling was made to honour Lois Mills and her contribution to Rippon – and what a fitting tribute it is.
Fruit for the Riesling was pristine. After sorting it was gently crushed by foot, pressed, and settled overnight, retaining the fine lees. The fermentation began with wild yeasts and was completed after 24 days, with regular lees stirring.
The final wine is a symphony of aroma and flavour, perfectly reflecting the cool vineyard conditions and the considered winemaking. Ebullient notes of blossom, peach, citrus and zest are matched by superb acidity and an almost unctuous mouthfeel. This is a wine to savour and enjoy slowly, now or in the future.
