New wines from the scarce 2024 vintage, plus a top-up of sold-out 2023s
Didier Picq now has Pierre Picq, his 22yo grandson under his wing working in the vineyard and cellar, and Pierre is off to Oregon for vintage this year. The future is looking bright and the whole range of 2024 vintage wines are bottled and taste impressive. The vintage is ½ of a normal one, and the wines have great dry extract, pleasing density, thirst inducing salinity and vibrating luminosity. “Really good acidity and freshness” says Didier who is also pleased with himself for now bottling all wines with “Diam 10” corks. His family’s vines over the 14Ha estate are impressively old with most vines in the 9 plots for AC Chablis being from the 50’s - 80s, and youngest used for the V.V. are from the early 70’s!
Cheers, Randall.

Didier Picq on 2024
“We made 35 hl/ha – for me a better vintage in quality and volume than in 2021. We did okay with the mildew – our problem here was actually the hail – also the frost didn’t cause us problems. I love the vintage – it just lacks 30k bottles!!”

Notes on winemaking, vineyards and vintage
Didier vinifies exclusively in stainless steel, often bottling late after up to 22 months on the lees. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and raised entirely without oak, the wines emphasize purity, density, and clear terroir expression—driven by meticulous vineyard work.
The domaine produces four village wines annually: Chablis AC, a Vieilles Vignes cuvée from vines over 50 years old, and two single-terroir bottlings, Dessus La Carrière and En Vaudécorse—both comparable in quality to premier cru. They also craft two premier crus from around Chichée: the pure, complex Vaucoupin and the more powerful, soil-driven Vosgros, sourced from the family’s oldest premier cru vines. 2024 in Chablis faced dubious challenges, leaving very little as far as yields, but has repeatedly been described by critics as vibrant wines of typical benchmark quality. Get what you can as these are extremely limited!
