I purchased a couple of pallets of this cleanskin wine about 16 years ago, and I kept about 6 doz as I knew it would age beautifully. Back then it was youthful, tightly coiled and brimming with fruit as you would expect from an Arthur's Creek Cabernet, even an un-labelled one. This is just wearing a small mailing-sticker label, but it has aged exceptionally well and is still vital and alive to say the least. In its youth it looked quite bordeaux-like, and it still has some of that cigar-box, cedar vibe. There is still a good measure of cabernet fruit, cassis, a touch of herbaceousness with fragrant tobacco and damp earthy notes. It's medium bodied with brightness, silky tannins and good energy. I've been drinking the odd bottle here and there over the years and thoroughly enjoying it; and I'll still keep some.
