2017 Domaine Giachino Savoie Mondeuse

"What an exciting grape Mondeuse is – wild and full of mystery. Visually the wine has a brilliant, purple / blue colour. On the nose it’s full of fragrance, blueberries, mulberry, and black cherry. Lashing of spice too, black pepper, cardamon and aniseed. This grape always makes more tannic styles of wine, this helps with ageing, but also makes them great with richer protein dishes like lamb (let it see the flames). Silky fruit from front to back.
