2020 Amiot Servelle Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru 'Les Amoureuses' 750Ml Bottle

This is such a powerful wine that has such beautiful "Grand Cru" like density, with poise and caressing tannins. It's super-classy with great balance and potential. Quintessential Chambolle-Musigny of the highest order. Domaine Amiot-Servelle owns about 8% of Les Amoureuses, 0.45 of a hectare. This is regarded by most Burgundy commentators as Grand Cru in all but name. Christian Amiot says '..since the soil is not very deep it is difficult to get very old vines in Les Amoureuses” for this wine the vines were planted in 1992 and 2005.' Approximately 50% whole cluster ferment and its matured for 18 months in barrels, 50% new.

The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru ... is very well defined and focused on the nose with dark cherry, bilberry and crushed iris petal aromas. The palate is silky smooth with fine, quite saturated tannins. Surfeit with energy, this Les Amoureuses has an expansive finish with a touch of spice lingering on the aftertaste.
