"This new title for winemaker David Moreau's village red is the name of a Jurassic period limestone rock (that carries a lot of small fossils) and much of the de l'Aste vines are rooted in this. This wine comes from 3 plots, close to the Chassagne Montrachet border. 0.7 ha of the 0.9 ha total comes from a plot called Champs Claude which sits adjacent to 1er Cru Morgeot. This red emphasises the highly perfumed floral and berry compote aromas and fleshy, juicy palate richness that David's wines have. It's lovely and long, expansive and pure pleasure. It drinks well now and will cellar beautifully for 5 or 10 years too." Cheers, Randall
