    Côte de Beaune
Bouchard was well known to many of us Burgundy lovers; the “big negociant” that made average quality amorphic wines in decades past, but these days and for the last decade or so, the wines are great, stunningly beautiful and age gracefully and reliably. This change in quality came with dedicated hard work by the Henriot family, management and team, and head winemaker Fréderic Weber now has a palette of 130 ha, of which 12ha are Grand Cru and 74ha are 1er Cru!
    Cheers, Randall
"A stellar line-up chez Bouchard in 2021 – almost as good as their range of 2020s when I rated them one of the producers of the year – they are not far behind that accolade again. So many great wines, and at all price levels…" - Bill Nanson, The Burgundy Report
“1910 or 1930 – that’s the last time we had such low yields... The growth was already exploding in the first week of April as the weather had been so warm before. We have some of the best-exposed parcels – but this year they were also the best exposed to the snow, hence, the historic loss. We averaged 10 hl/ha for the whites... vs roughly a normal volume in 2020 for whites. Overall, it’s about a quarter of a harvest in 2021" - Frédéric Weber, Cellar Master

2020 & 2021 Beaune du Chateau Blanc Premier Cru
     RRP: $122 | Offer: $109
"Slightly more prominent wood sets off slightly riper aromas of white orchard fruit, floral wisps and a similar hint of lemon zest. There is even better volume to the less refined medium weight flavors that also terminate in a clean, dry and youthfully austere finale. This appealing effort should also drink well young if that's your preference." 92 pts - Allen Meadows, Burghound on the 2021

"More prominent wood can be found on the ripe aromas poached plum, citrus and a similar note of apple compote. On the palate the medium-bodied flavors are also quite rich and generous with good underlying tension on the agreeably dry finish." 91 pts - Allen Meadows, Burghound on the 2020

    2020 Beaune Teurons Premier Cru
     RRP: $147 | Offer: $132
"The 2020 Beaune 1er Cru Les Teurons bursts with aromas of cherries, wild berries, cassis and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, rich and ample, it's a fleshy, enveloping, textural wine that's generous and elegant." 93pts - William Kelley, Wine Advocate

2020 Beaune Clos De La Mousse Premier Cru
     RRP: $200 | Offer: $179
"Pretty and cool yet definitely ripe aromas reveal notes of various dark berries, violet and rose petal. The suave and seductively textured medium weight flavors possess very fine density while the youthfully austere and moderately firm finish makes clear that this will need at least a few years of bottle aging first." 92pts - Allen Meadows, Burghound

2020 & 2021 Beaune Du Chateau Rouge Premier Cru
     RRP: $121 | Offer: $109
"Subtle but not invisible wood sets off ripe and fresh aromas of various dark berries, spice and a whiff of earth. Here too there is fine volume and richness to the generous and seductive, even velvet-textured, flavors that offer very good length if only average depth, though that of course should improve with a few years of keeping." 91pts - Allen Meadows, Burghound on the 2021

"There is touch of mocha to the mostly purple fruit and warm earth scented nose. The almost lavishly rich and opulent middle weight flavors possess a suave and round flavors that, somewhat curiously given the richness, concludes in a youthfully austere finale." 91pts - Allen Meadows, Burghound on the 2020
2020 Echezeaux "Rouges du Bas" Grand Cru
     RRP: $787 | Offer: $708
3-95 pts! - Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
"The 2020 Echézeaux Grand Cru offers up aromas of plums and cherries mingled with exotic spices, licorice and rose petals. Full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, its broad and textural attack segues into an ample core of fruit, framed by supple tannins and lively acids, before concluding with a long, perfumed finish." 92-94pts - William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
