5x 96Pt scores! (Vinous, Suckling, Spectator, Advocate + Wine Enthusiast).
I tasted this wine with master winemaker Denis Bunner last year and tasted; it is stunning and it blew me away. For a vintage that was warm in Burgundy, it was relatively cool in Champagne, however this wine is ripe, beautifully deep and concentrated and full of “Bollinger greatness” with great complexity. It’s a statuesque beauty! - Randall.
“…a deep bouquet of yellow apple, dried apricot, nashi pear and toasted hazelnut mingled with dried flowers, freshly baked bread and a hint of sage. Medium- to full-bodied, the palate is layered and fleshy, underpinned by ample reserves of chalky structuring extract, and concludes with a long, saline finish. It is a considerable success in the vintage and a very classic Bollinger, a wine with real identity.”

2022 Prinz Riesling 1er Cru Hendelberg
Offer: $79
This 1er cru, from a steep more slatey section of Hendelberg, is from vines 10-40yo. This site is the furthest 1er or grossen lagen from the Rhine (1.5k away). In the pre-grossen lagen classification book Wine Atlas of Germany, Hendelberg was rated as one of the “Exceptional Vineyards”, along with Berg Schlossberg, Jungfer etc.
Fred uses "Pied de cuve" / spontaneous fermentation with steel and barrel for and ageing. Of his two 1er Crus (also Fruhenberg) this one is the fuller and more textured of the two. There is a fresh ginger spice and a forceful drive.
2025 Estate Chardonnay
$75 | Offer: $69 Singles | $67 in Straight or Mixed 6
$149 in-Magnum
"Fermented and matured in 25% new French hogsheads and puncheons, 70% mlf. A complex mélange of stone fruit, quince, apple blossom, acacia and marine notes. The palate is equally complex and totally mouth-filling while remaining light on its feet. Finishes silky-textured and very long. A class act that will provide a lot of enjoyment over the next six to eight years." 96+Pts. - Philip Rich, Halliday Wine Companion
2025 Estate Pinot Noir
$75 | Offer: $69 Singles | $67 in Straight or Mixed 6
$149 in-Magnum
"From vines planted between 1976 and 2007; 20% whole bunches, 25% new oak. A lovely Bannockburn pinot noir. Opens with perfumed aromas of red cherry, wild strawberry, rose bush and subtle cardamom and nutmeg spice. Medium bodied on the palate, with an excellent core of fruit, yet it's equally light on its feet. The tannins are sinewy and in perfect harmony with the fruit. Very long. Delicious now and will be even better in six to 10 years."

2025 Winery Block Chardonnay
Offer: $84 | $75 in Straight or Mixed 6-Packs
If you are lucky enough to line the three single site wines up side by side this one comes across as the most oatmealy and old school Meursault-like. It is super complex, rich, deep and full flavoured. The 40% new oak is buried and the old-vine (1981!) character comes through in the superb depth. This was the most popular chardonnay of the dinner Monday night.
"Whole-bunch pressed, fermented and matured in French hogsheads and puncheons (40% new); 75% mlf. An intense, rich bouquet of yellow pear, citrus peel, spice and oyster shell. It's ripe and mouth-filling, to be sure, but also nicely delineated, with an even thread of acidity giving the wine structure and length through to its long finale. Lovely now, but history also tells us it will age well."

2025 Bindi Kostas Rind Chardonnay
Offer: $77
This is a very fine Kostas Rind, coming from the volcanic soils over clay on the lower Bindi Chardonnay plantings from 1988. The 2024 is beautifully fragrant with spice, lemon and white flower aromas mixing with lovely nutty and wet stone complexity. It is fine and poised. The palate is fresh and energetic with excellent intensity. Initially it is gently creamy and then the fruit intensity combines with the acidity and fine phenolics to drive for a pure, balanced finish.
2022 Ch de Beauregard Pouilly Fuisse 1er Cru 'Vers Cras'
$173 | Offer: $129
"Another gleaming green and gold. The nose is growing on me, all about the fruit and not the oak. Crunchy oyster shells! Very vertical, to employ a current buzzword. Absolutely superb! Stands alone in style, because of its terroir. I think it is the clarity of the finish and the lack of sucrosity which really impresses."

2025 S.R.H. Chardonnay
Offer: $119 | $106 in Straight or Mixed 6-Packs
$252 in-Magnum
In the 3 single-site blind line up, this showed a more "rocky", "slight chabliesque" character, albeit with huge power and richness. This is not surprising when you learn that these 12 rows planted in 1976 have the shallowest top-soil and the roots are growing deep in the underlying limestone. This is bound for greatness over the next 15 years or more.
"From a 12-row block of P58 clone planted in '76. Matured in French hogsheads and puncheons (40% new); 70% mlf. A very bright green gold. Interestingly, this is the most restrained and subtle of Bannockburn's '25 chardonnays, and, no surprise, also the most complex. Aromas of perfectly ripened stone fruits, orange pith and lemongrass precede a tightly wound palate that's really concentrated without being remotely heavy. A superb wine with a magnificent future."

2025 Olive Tree Hill Pinot Noir
Offer: $84 | $75 in Straight or Mixed 6-Packs
"Bannockburn’s Olive Hill Pinot Noir is grown on vines planted in 1976, which means that it’s grown on Bannockburn’s oldest vines.
This is very Bannockburn. It’s a mix of earth, undergrowth, beet and mineral notes, pulled along by ripe red/black cherry flavours, and all framed by firm, iodine-and-mineral tannin. It’s earth, fruit, sinew and bone in one; there’s nothing overtly sweet up-front and yet there’s plenty to hold onto. This is right in the Bannockburn groove, I would say." 94Pts. - Campbell Mattinson, Wine Front
2025 Bindi Dixon Pinot Noir
Offer: $77 | $72 in Straight or Mixed 6-Packs
The Dixon is made from declassified grapes from the Original Vineyard planted in 1988 and grapes from the newer Block K, planted in 2001. It's fermented the same way as the other pinots: 100% de-stemmed and gently worked in small open vats and spends 11 months in French barrels, of which about 10-15% is new.
2023 Chevillon Nuits St Georges 'Vieilles Vignes'
Offer: $239
This is an important cuvee for this domaine as it represents 3.5ha; 10 plots with an average vine age of over 55y! This jumped out of the glass when I tasted it; Bertrand saw my smile, he said, "Yes, it's a nice surprise, we did a big green harvest, and it's deep and rich." It was assembeled when I tasted it and it had dark cherry fruit, great depth, silky firmness and enticing length. R.
2023 Francois Bertheau Chambolle Musginy 1er Cru
Offer: $339
A rare chance to secure Chambolle elegance from four of its finest 1er Crus — François Bertheau’s 2023 is seductive, seamless and very keenly priced.
These grapes come from 1.1 hectares split between 4 great 1er Cru plots that are amongst the cream of Chambolle: Groseilles, Baudes, Noirots and Gruenchers. These grapes are all picked on the same day and fermented together, then aged in François' other 2700L foudre. along with the little remainder in new oak pieces.
2019 Chateau Les Justices Sauternes
Offer: $69
This sister estate of Gilette is larger at 8ha, and situated in Preignac near the Garonne River.. It's made up of 85% sémillon, 10% sauvignon and 5% muscadelle. with a generous proportion aged in barrels (unlike Gilette). This vintage now at a deliciously youthful 6yo, is a very good one and it scored 92 in the RdVdF. This will easily cellar for another decade.
