Domaine Denis Race has 18 hectares of enviable holdings, including 3 1er Crus with many vines aged up to 65 years. The 4th generation vigneronnes Claire and Marine Race produce mineral-inflected Chablis with great "cut" and intensity. Oak plays no part, the sisters intending to show a pure expression of their Chablis sites. A Petit Chablis from 2022 for $38! Really?
    Cheers, Randall.

Intended to be enjoyed in its youth, this wine will see you through the coming spring and summer days. Emitting the shimmering intensity, struck rock flinty notes and clean, juicy lemon fruit of limestone-rich soils it's classic and of high quality. It's enjoyable with your oysters and / or ham as per Domaine Race's instructions!

    2022 Denis Race Chablis
    RRP: $62 | Offer: $44

As a young wine, from a vintage that put smiles on the Chablisiens faces, this AC Chablis has great intensity of pear, lemon, peach and gripping mineral flavours and aromas. The 2022 season had its fair share of challenges for the growers, but the grapes were harvested in perfect condition, and the resulting wines are super impressive in their deep flavours and fruit.

2021 Denis Race Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu
    RRP: $79 | Offer: $55

The Race family has 1 hectare of well-sited 26yo vines in Mont de Milieu, this mostly on red clay based cru is said to be "one of the most powerful 1er cru's of Chablis". - Jasper Morris
2021 was a harvest miniscule in its volume, but absolutely classic in its character and quality. Dare we say it shows exemplary "chablisity"! The Chablis 1er Cru Mont du Milieu from the right bank is situated just in front of the Grand Crus sites. Its fine, elegant and flinty / chalky mineral character combine with depth and good structure to give ageing potential of up to 10 years.

2021 Denis Race Chablis 1er Cru Montmains
    RRP: $83 | Offer: $69

This 1er cru is textbook Chablis, and usually ages well. The Montmains 1er Cru is the heart of the Race family holdings and this wine is a blend of plots from Butteaux - giving the wine a broad-base delivering length of flavour, Foret and Montmains proper - credited with the distinguished minerality (all lieu-dits within greater Montmains), with an average vine age of 33yo. Vinifying the grapes together from these different parcels produces a dry and deeply-flavoured wine with intense aromas and an ageing potential of 8 years according to Race.

2021 Denis Race Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons
    RRP: $83 | Offer: $69

Wines from Vaillon should be lovely, classic and elegant with both vivacity and and power according to Jasper Morris, and this cuvee is no exception! Typically the most incisive Chablis, it is a noticeably dry wine with the hallmarks of fine Chablis with it's marine, mineral character.
This Vaillon is a smooth and full-bodied wine with very fruity and tender notes. Often a favourite in our tastings, it's impressionable length keeps you savouring this cuvee. It received #1 in the Guide Hachette 2021!
"Regularly distinguished in Guide Hachette, this 17 ha estate is run by the daughters of Denis Race, Claire and Marine, surrounded by a 100% female team. À la carte, petit-Chablis, 1 er crus and grands crus of flawless regularity in quality. A safe bet." - Guide Hachette.
