Emrich-Schonleber Great 2022's - A Rockstar of the Nahe

Filter
Emrich-Schönleber was established 250 years ago, and has earnt it's status as one of the top 3 estates of the Nahe, and one of the top 10 in Germany. The estates' important vineyards are in the upper Nahe (further away from where the Nahe empties into the Rhine) around Monzingen.
In the 1970's Werner Shönleber purchased two hectares in the Monzingen region, strengthening the Shönleber estates and bringing new fame to the region.
Franck Shönleber (son of Werner) has taken over the wheel, and has since produced wines with incredible precision, clarity and power.

"Werner Schönleber upholds the tradition for elegantly-crafted Grosses Gewächs Riesling made from the estate’s 5.5 hectares (ha) of blue slate and quartzite Halenberg and 4 hectares of red slate and gravel Frühlingsplätzchen sitting side by side at 160 to 250 metres - Anthony Rose, The Real Review

These are powerful, super classy and deeply complex wines from an A+ grade estate. The wines are like dry Mosels on steroids (more richness and power, but similar crystalline, shimmering, mineral brightness! If you are already a German riesling devotee, or a Burgundy lover happy to spoil yourself, you deserve some of these. They are worthy of your cellar, Randall.
