Celine Fontaine is on a roll and is now is making show-stopping reds with her almost Volnay-esqe, perfumed and silky Chassagne Rouge and her classy 1er Cru Volnay that is probably her best ever! All the wines - from Bourgogne to Le Montrachet - come from small plots of wonderfully mature vines (see below) and are fine, ripe, juicy and delicious. She continues to kick goals with her classy whites that are some of Chassagne's shining beacons.
    Cheers, Randall

    The Reds
    Fontaine-Gagnard 2021 Bourgogne Passetoutgrain
    RRP: $65 | Offer: $52
    In 6-Packs: $49!
50-50 pinot/gamay blend - From old vines planted in 1974!
"An ultra-fresh and lightly peppery nose speaks of both red and dark berries trimmed in a hint of the sauvage. The racy and utterly delicious lighter weight flavors conclude in a mildly austere, crisp and very clean finish that displays only a trace of rusticity. To enjoy young for its vivacity." - Allen Meadows, Burghound
    Fontaine-Gagnard 2021 Bourgogne Rouge
    RRP: $97 | Offer: $78!
    In 6-Packs: $75!
From mature vines planted in the commune of Volnay just below the Domaine Pousse d'Or cellar on the "upper" side of the Route Nationale.
"A very pinot-like nose speaks mostly of red cherry and raspberry along with background hints of spice and newly turned earth. The supple and relatively forward middleweight flavors possess a bit more volume while displaying reasonably good persistence on the bitter pit fruit-inflected finish that is just a bit more structured. Even so, this too should drink well shortly after release." - Allen Meadows, Burghound
    Fontaine-Gagnard 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge
    RRP: $149 | Offer: $119!
From various parcels of old vines planted between 1938(!) and 1987.
"There is both good verve and freshness to the slightly more concentrated medium weight flavors that deliver a bit more persistence on the delicious and inviting finale. This could use better depth though more should develop if given 2 to 4 years of keeping." - Allen Meadows, Burghound
Fontaine-Gagnard 2021 Volnay 1er Cru 'Clos des Chenes'
    RRP: $275 | Offer: $219!
From vines mostly planted in 1940 with a small parcel planted in 1960!
"The 2021 Volnay Clos des Chênes 1er Cru has a classy bouquet with redcurrant, cranberry and light raspberry scents, pure and focused, though not as intense as previous vintages like you would expect. The palate is clean and precise, slightly creamy in texture on the entry, not plush but with a silky smooth, peppery finish that tingles after the wine has exited. Very fine." 90-92pts - Neal Martin, Vinous
    The Whites
    Fontaine-Gagnard 2021 Bourgogne Blanc
    RRP: $105 | Offer: $89!
From old vines planted in 1980!
"The 2021 Bourgogne Blanc has a well-defined bouquet, simple but focused. The palate is well balanced with a slightly honeyed opening, fine acidity with touch of almond and spice on the finish. Lovely."  - Neal Martin, Vinous
    Fontaine-Gagnard 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet Blanc
    RRP: $215 | Offer: $179!
From various parcels of old vines planted between 1960 and 1989.
"Notes of petrol, rosemary oil, lemon-lime and white orchard fruit are complemented by moderately dense middleweight flavors that possess good underlying tension while delivering better complexity and length on the balanced finale. Note that while this should repay mid-term keeping, it should also drink well young." 88pts - Allen Meadows, Burghound
    Fontaine-Gagnard 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru 'Les Vergers'
    RRP: $259 | Offer: $219!
    LIMITED!
From a 0.71ha parcel of old vines planted in 1972!
"A plethora of citrus elements are present on the noser of green apple, pear and a floral top note. The succulent yet exceptionally punchy, even crunchy, medium-bodied flavors possess fine mid-palate density while delivering excellent persistence on the compact and tightly coiled finale. Once again, more depth would be beneficial but this clearly has the necessary stuffing to permit mid- to even longer-term keeping." 92pts, Outstanding! - Allen Meadows, Burghound
