An Australian cult favourite continues to deliver!
Morgon Beaujolais 2019 #3 in Suckling's Top 100 - $66

A wine from altitude in Beechworth setting the new benchmark
2025 Sorrenberg Gamay
$79.99 | Offer: $69

This is a beut, with pinot noir (10%) for extra complexity. Some whole bunches in the wild ferment. Two weeks on skins. The last couple of vintages have had increased elegance, perfume and classic gamay perfume (I see raisin / cinnamon toast and earthy / graphite struck rocks).

"A frisky number set more in the nouveau zone than some of the more concentrated and layered releases of this wine. Big appeal though, all the crisp, red cherry, rose hip tea, white strawberry, raspberry ripple ice cream, pot pourri red fruits and florals. Dashes of clove, a shaving of truffle, some dried herbs and undergrowth there too. Very crunchy and perky to taste, if not just a little bit nervy and then skeletal and a touch orangey through the finish. Exuberant, thirst-quenching style, and one to drink in vigorous youth. Sorrenberg does a fun one.' - 93 pts Winefront.com

2023 Domaine Gaget Morgon Côte Du Py
$66 | Offer: $44

‘This wine from this highly regarded domaine comes from the steep slopes of ancient schist and bluestone that make up the revered Cote de Py -Grand Cru Morgon! This is SO cheap for such an authentic, high quality and emblematic cru Beaujolais.

"Superb. A great achievement. This wine is filled with alluring vulnerability. The nose swirls with rose-petal-dusted red raspberry that bumps up against black plum, dried cranberry and cassis. A mineral quality infuses the fruit core with sleek tannins leading to a savory, black-tea finish. — 94 pts, Wine Enthusiast.

2019 Saint-Genys Morgon 'En Ruyere'
$83 | Offer: $66

The 50-year-old En Ruyère vines sit on stony alluvium soil South-East of Villié-Morgon at an altitude between 360 and 395masl.

"Fragrant and floral on the very complex nose, which is still really youthful. Staggering concentration and vitality on the palate, a huge tannin structure underlying the deep red-fruit character. So plush at the very long finish that it literally takes your breath away." 97Pts! - James Suckling.

The lush fruit that was exuberant a few years ago has settled down but is still a juicy-fruited adolescent red with good concentration and delicious firm tannins that do, and will for quite some time, hold this impressive red together beautifully. This is a ripper! Randall.

This staggering cuvee came in at no.3 in Suckling's top 100 wine list when released. A serious bargain! - 97pts.

2020 Saint-Genys Morgon 'Aux Charmes'
$86 | Offer: $69

"The very enticing nose of red cherries, wild strawberries and summer flowers leads you into this remarkable Morgon, which has a silky texture that I can’t remember ever encountering before in this appellation. Very fine tannins support the generous body that glides into a very long, powdery finish. Spot-on acidity for the vintage. 96pts! - James Suckling

2022 Chateau Thivin Cotes de Brouilly 'La Chapelle'
$91 | Offer: $85

Yes, sophisticated is a good word for this fine red, that is still youthful, but is so well deserving of wine enthusiasts attention. The warm, steep site, exposed on the top of Mt. Brouilly, with its old vines has given a beautifully concentrated and complex re din 22. I applaud this La Chapelle, always the "biggest" of the Thivin range. Randall.

'This is the probably the best La Chapelle ever, with the juxtaposition of ripe red and black berry fruits, spicy currants, pepper, and then some finer more seductive elements of Asian spice, woodsmoke, autumnal and rose petal notes. The body is full, palate is long, tannins ripe, fine; and firm, and the balance is superb. - 95Pts – Stuart Pigott, James Suckling

2021 Jean Foillard Morgon Corcelette
$115 | Offer: $95

'Complex bouquet, with raspberry and wild strawberry, rose petal and light chalky scents. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, finely chiseled and lending tension. The acidity keeps this taut, focused, and quite minerally towards the leaner-than-usual finish.' 91Pts - Neal Martin, Vinous

2021 Jean Foillard Fleurie Rouge
$127 | Offer: $105

'solid complexity and sneaky good length while offering excellent development potential' 92Pts - Allen Meadows, Burghound

'A luminary in the Beaujolais wine scene… making for fine-tuned wines of great purity, and the 2021s come highly recommended with that… This is a spot-on wine from the Foillard team' Kenna Wells - The Wine Advocate

2022 Chateau Thivin Cote de Brouilly Cuvee Zaccahrie
$131 | Offer: $129

The 2020 received 100/100 and sold in a flash, but the 2022 is set to be better; more intense and more relaxed with more purity, more hidden power and no oak showing (which is the new norm.) This is a 20-year wine easily. Randall.
"95 points – Stuart Pigott, James Suckling.
