Bachelet Ramonet
Due January 2026
Quantities from Bachelet-Ramonet are minuscule, and the domaine does not send samples for review, so critic scores are rarely issued. Even so, the wines have a devoted following, look to the wine lists of the Côte d’Or and beyond, where they are favourites of local restaurateurs and sommeliers.
The Bachelet-Ramonet domaine was created in 1977, when the daughter of Claude Ramonet (of the famous Domaine Ramonet) combined her inheritance with the holdings of her husband Georges Bachelet. Claude's son kept the remainder of the vineyards and has continued making wines under the original Ramonet label.
Over four generations of family vignerons have cared for the estate's 13 hectares of vines, much of which was once part of the legendary Domaine Ramonet! The current custodian of the estate is Alain Bonnefoy, who married into the family and has continued the Ramonet tradition of making elegant, precise whites. The wines see 12-24 months elevage in barrel, with around 20-25% new oak being used.
These wines are hidden gems (from some of the really great sites in Chassagne!). Bachelet-Ramonet is under the radar and the family is not good at promoting themselves so they are cheap! These are "on the money" - great quality, clean, tight, dense and great value. Cheers, Randall

'[..] In this tasting, it comes across as a mini-2008, similar in its linear personality, with just a touch more mid-palate creaminess. Readers will find a Comtes that plays in the realm of tension and energy. Citrus confit, white flowers, chalk, mint and chamomile are all finely sketched. Light tropical overtones grace the finish. What an absolute delight. [..]' 97 points - Antonio Galloni, Vinous
'[..] What is showstopping about this wine is that it is an absolute beauty from the tips of its toes to the last fibre of its being...' 19.5/20 Matthew Jukes
