2024 Denis Race Petit Chablis RRP: $53 Offer: $36.90
The 2024 Race Petit Chablis tastes like a "real" AC Chablis because this vintage was very kind to the Race family vines that are situated just near 1er Cru Butteaux, in fact, between this and 1er Cru Vaillons. The 2024 shows great vibrancy, more richness than 2022 and is a beautiful, easy to drink, saline and grapefruit / pear fruit-laden crisp white. The value is remarkible.Cheers, Randall

2019 Heartwines 'Archie' Old Bush-Vine Heart McLaren Vale Grenache
RRP: $33 Offer: $19.90 | $18.90 in 6-Packs!
RRP: $
This is made from fruit grown on the famous Highsands block at Yangarra from the venerable 1940's bushvines plantings! It's made from the destemmed but not crushed berries (like black cavair) and fermented in a small batch using gentle foot plunging and some pump-overs. After the fermentation it's aged in a demi-muid and some old smaller barrels so there is no oak in the flavour profile. When it was younger I used to call it the "Chambolle of the Vale" because of its intense red-fruit / raspberry fruit, but now as it slowley ages there is a little more earth and sandalwood creaping in. It's not a light nor heavy wine but it has complexity of flavour and texture, still with nice freshness and great ageing potential too. This is not a wine designed to ever sell at this low price! Randall.
2022 MMAD Grenache
RRP: $76 | Offer: $69
RRP: $
"The second release of the MMAD Vineyard label, and off its 1939-planted Blewitt Springs vineyard. About 15% whole bunches, fermented in wood and steel, maturation in concrete and large old French oak. [..] There’s a brooding quality at present, with nori, iodine and ferrous notes filtering up through dark red cherry, plum, raspberry and sultry florals. Some spicy, musky characters emerge with air. Tannin is a meaningful factor, a pleasingly natural grape-derived affair, rugged but never rustic. A seriously compelling wine, and further proof of how thrilling McLaren Vale grenache is right now, for both its quality and the unparalleled diversity in top-flight expressions." 97 Points - Marcus Ellis, Halliday Wine Companion
2022 Yangarra Hickinbotham Grenache
RRP: $85 | Offer: $78
RRP: $
"In a year like 2022, where tannins and savouriness are turned up, that brighter pop gives this an earlier appeal, though it is no less equipped with mouth-puckering grip and zippy acidity. Raspberry, pomegranate, redcurrant, rosehip, musk, anise, dried orange peel, the fruit impeccably framed on the nose, and bound by an intricate net of fine sandy tannin on the palate carrying incredibly long. It’s an exceptional release." 97 Points - Marcus Ellis, Halliday Wine Companion
2023 Yangarra Ovitelli Grenache
RRP: $85 | Offer: $78
RRP: $
"From original '46 vines next to the High Sands block. The '23 grenache wines are very pale in the glass, and they are all a degree lighter in alcohol due to the cool year (one I love). A vintage like this really illustrates the kinship with the avant-garde grenache of Gredos, and with Barbaresco, and refined Etna Rosso (Girolamo Russo in particular), rather than almost anything from the Rhône. Savoury, dried red fruits, cranberry, cherry and redcurrant, warm terracotta, bergamot, potpourri, sumac, ground cinnamon, star anise, so tightly coiled, but also tensile, finely expansive in its flavour delivery. There’s tension aplenty, and it promises to unfurl over a long life. Superb." 97 Points - Marcus Ellis, Halliday Wine Companion

2023 SC Pannell Old McDonald Grenache
RRP: $95 | Offer: $85
RRP: $
"From 81-year-old vines planted to deep Maslin Sands. Fermented with 12% whole bunches over two weeks, then settled in tank for a month; élevage in a 4500L old French oak vat. This is spicy, lifted, with the depth that this site always displays, the layering of fruit, spice and mineral inflection all visible, but the old-vine intensity viewed though through a cooler lens. Red fruited, with berries, cherries and pomegranate, fresh red florals, musk and blood orange, the tannins so impeccably fine and graceful, yet no less purposeful and savoury. The fruit clings to the tannins – like flesh to a cherry pit – without spilling out. It’s a beautifully poised iteration of this cuvée, and just such a delight." 97 Points - Marcus Ellis, Halliday Wine Companion
2022 SC Pannell Sunrise 99 Grenache
RRP:$265 | Offer: $250
"In many ways, it feels as if all of the Grenache that Pannell has made over the decades has been leading up to this point. It was worth the wait."
100 Points. Erin Larkin, The Wine Advocate
This is from a very old site (planted in the 1920s) of bush vines planted in sandy soil, unirrigated and organically managed. The low yields only gave 160 doz per hectare! This will age incredibly well and belongs in every great cellar. - Randall

2023 Yangarra High Sands Grenache
RRP:$320 | Offer: $295
RRP:
"Well, there is certainly a theme in the '23s. A degree of alcohol less, lower colour and a commanding, yet incredibly fine, structural framework. This is a very different High Sands, a reflection of the cool year, but also an evolving direction, leaning into elegance, soaring fragrance and savoury tension. Red cherry, tart raspberry, intensely floral, swirling with North African spices, musk and orange peel. The palate is coiled at this stage, but the fruit has flex and will bloom with time in bottle, radiating out from the core of mineral-feeling tannin and skein of vigorous acidity. This is truly magnificent now, but the future is one of dazzling possibility." 98 Points - Marcus Ellis, Halliday Wine Companion
2023 Domaine Durieu Cotes du Rhone 'Pont de Pierres'
RRP:$35 | Offer: $29
RRP:
50% Carignan, 20% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre
This is an amazing bargain, and we have only a few left. The nose is sweet with spice, clean earthy cellar floor notes and hints of fruitcake, currants, raspberry and gingerbread. The palate opens with clarity, ripe fruit fleshiness and drive, framed by lively acidity. Silky in texture, it moves with ease across the mid-palate, the tannins finely woven and unobtrusive. Subtle pepper spice adds lift before a finish marked by refined, savoury bitters that lends both length and distinction.
The clay soil and the 20 day maceration added suave tannins and the ageing in cement for 9 months helped to round out and meld the 4 varieties. Randall

2022 Domaine Durieu CdP 'Lieu-Dit Bois Lauzon'
RRP: $165 | Offer: $144
RRP: $165 | Offer: $144
This is in the more red-fruited and less fruitcake style of CnP. Its a classy and elegant style.
"Fascinating nose of summer flowers and berry fruit with just a hint of nectarines. Texturally complex, full-bodied palate with beautifully integrated fine tannins. The concentration creeps up on you, the intensity and vibrancy growing in the very long, graceful finish."
