There is everything you want in this chardonnay, classic Margaret River weight and class, ripe fruit, savoury, cashew / nutty elements. Rich and deep, full bodied and well balanced. This could be THE BEST value chardonnay in Australia (and hence, the world) right now.

Chateau d'Yquem
There are few wineries in the world which can claim no equal, but it would be hard to find a peer of Sauternes' famed Chateau d'Yquem - which needs little introduction. Yquem remains today the only estate in Sauternes to be given the classification of "Premier Cru Superieur", a designation it received in the 1855 Bordeaux classification.

Romer du Hayot
Being an old hand, I have been long familiar with Romer du Hayot as they had an importer in Australia in the 70s and 80s. Early on in my trips to France I sought out and visited the vineyards and became a regular buyer, collector and consumer in my early trade days - I was blown away by the price-to-quality ratio and the sheer deliciousness of the wines. So when I was offered the chance to ship these museum offerings going back almost 100 years, it was something of a dream come true! I have tasted the 1929 (approaching its 100th birthday!), 1988, 1990 & 2011 from our first shipment and I was blown away once again by this under-the-radar Sauternes. These wines have been impeccably cellared by the chateau, checked for colour and topped up if required before labelling, bottles washed, labelled and re-capsuled. - Randall

Moulin Touchais
Nestled on the clay-limestone slopes of Anjou, Moulin Touchais has been making late-harvest Chenin Blanc of extraordinary longevity for over two centuries. Each bottle is born of twin harvests, one to capture vivacious freshness, the next to draw richness and complexity from desiccated grapes. Then comes a decade (or more) of quiet maturation in the estate’s cool cellars, before release.  Chenin has an almost preternatural ability to age, its vivid acidity carrying honeyed richness effortlessly across decades.

They remain the only estate in the world to offer a century-long guarantee on the longevity of their wines (with proper cellaring), a testament to their unique élevage and unwavering traditional methods.
