Super Special: 2025 Wickhams Road Yarra Valley Pinot
    Offer: $19.99

There are no other pinots in Australia that represent better value at $20, and there is no better $20 Pinot than Hoddles Creek Wickhams Road range for value and ageability! These always sell out and are a sure-shot buy in 6 or 12-packs! Cheers, Randall

'Sprightly and sleek, a wine of long, clean lines and invigorating freshness. Neatly detailed on the nose; a raft of sour cherry, strawberry and rubbed sage aromatics. Lithe and slippery in the mouth, the fruit deftly weighted and polished. Athletic rather than muscular, tapered by microfine tannins.' 94 Points - Nick Ryan, The Australian

These wines are the richest and most Cote d'Or-like of any macons I know of. Cheers, Randall.

Frederic Burrier, a native Maconais vigneron, grew up in and around the vines and twin villages of Solutré-Pouilly and Fuissé. He studied oenology in Dijon and then worked at Louis Jadot in Beaune for 12 years. He is a lover of great wines of the world, and is happy drinking a fine Bordeaux, Australian, Loire and is likely to open a  Rousseau. He sat and passed one of the MW exams, but got bogged down with work running his family’s Domaine and never finished the final. To say he knows great wine is an understatement, and strives to make it with great determination. His chardonnays, with their power and depth, have more in common with the Cote de Beaunes than most Macons. These are indeed fine wines at accessible prices -  Note this is genuine vins de garde, and not an everyday opportunity to secure directly imported from the source with a glimpse of appropriate bottle age, but his wines also will continue to age elegantly. Click here for a personalized video of Frédéric Burrier talking through his Pouilly-Fuissé holdings.

2023 Domaine de la Rochette Macon Milly Lamartine
    Price: $59 | $39

This is s single site at 400mt elevation and limestone soil / bedrock. It's made with crushed fruit and barrel-fermentation in 500lt barrels. proper burgundy! '[..] There is again good richness and volume to the exuberantly mineral-inflected medium weight flavors that display acceptable depth on the dry and persistent finale. [..]' 86-89 Points - Allen Meadows, Burghound

2021 Domaine de la Rochette Bourgogne Aligote 'Les 17 Rangs'
    Price: $59 | $39

'Let’s go aligote! The better white grape of Burgundy, by and large &  This is a delight. Fennel, green apple, wet ferns, basil. Wonderful perfume. More of the same to taste, crisp but with depth and texture. Faint cinnamon spice, a lick of wheat biscuit, but mostly about the fruit and herbs. It’s beautiful in the texture department too, the finish with fennel flowers so delightful. And minerality! It’s a quietly complex and utterly delightful white wine.' 94 Points - Mike Bennie, Wine Front

2020 Chateau de Beauregard Saint Veran
    Price: $79 | $59

I have been drinking a few bottles of this lately because it's settled down and showing nice 'pre-adolescent" bottle age and some ripe pineapple subtle vanilla, excellent richness and some citrus tang. It's quite remarkible for the price.
'An interesting winemaking approach in crushing all grapes then doing a hard press – phenolics and texture are the game. This is steely and taut though there’s a chalky pucker at play too. Lemon blossom, lemon oil, green apple, faint saline characters, a touch of green almond and a puff of sandalwood incense. Super refreshing to taste with a tense, chewy finish that ends up mouth-watering and very fresh. It’s a strict chardonnay, but delivers with tension and precision. Very good drinking.' 92 Points - Mike Bennie, The Wine Front

    2022 Chateau de Beauregard Pouilly-Fuissé
    Price: $118 | $75

This is from a "ripe" vintage (like 20 and 23) and is mostly fermented in 228lt barrels with a little in tank, all on lees (the 2021 was 1/2 and 1/2) but since then all vintages have seen more barrel and little or no tank ageing. The grapes are crushed to give more extract in the finished wine and help the wine's stability to age. It has classy reduction, ripe pineapple and pear fruit, a hint of spice and beautiful fruit with body. I doubt that you will find a better village level wine for this price!

"Frédéric has been trying to bring the Château blend up over the last few years. It is quite a sizeable cuvée, with 60 barrels and the equivalent of a further 40 not in wood, all kept on fine lees and bottled after a year. 2022 is the first year it is certified organic. Lemon yellow. A satisfying bouquet that marries opulence and oak with a fresh core. Liquorice on the palate, more white fruit than yellow, both structure and energy. A little bitterness, some tannin. Needs time but very promising. Drink from 2026-2033. 91 Points - Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy

2018 Chateau de Beauregard Pouilly-Fuissé 'Ver Cras'
    Price: $129 | $99

We have about 4 doz left of this wine, and if I'm honest, I hope we don't sell any because I want to drink it all over the next 10 years. It's so good, that I have already tasted it many, many times, and throughily enjoyed many bottles. There is still a little "noble reduction" and a little bottle age creeping in, but it still shows fresh lemony fruit ands well as nice ripeness and really good density and balance. The 1/3 new oak doesn't show at all." Randall.

"A ripe and nicely perfumed nose features notes of citrus blossom, acacia, pear compote and a whiff of spice. The precise and mineral-driven flavors... possess an attractive texture as well as good persistence on the youthfully austere and chiseled finish.' 92 Points - Allen Meadows, Burghound

2022 Chateau du Clos Pouilly 1er Cru 'Pouilly'
    Price: $175 | $125

95 Points, 5 Stars! - Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy
'An outstanding wine in its category. This accolade will be given very rarely, certainly to less than 10% of wines tasted across the year.

Clear bright lemon yellow. The bouquet is thrilling, intensity with elegance. Such a weight of fruit, massive but not monolithic, while the balance is outstanding and the finish seems endless. Completely dry yet such a richness of fruit, more white than yellow, fills out the mouth."

Pouilly is the 1er Cru that gave its name to Solutre Pouilly the village and with this wine you can see why the name is so famous. This is great and it will age well also.
