The Héritiers Saint-Genys estate, located in the heart of the village of Chassagne, was founded by Patrice du Jeu, a Parisian restaurateur. He, together with other members of his family and some friends, managed to buy several neglected parcels of vines in excellent sites mainly in the Cote de Beaune, but also some incredible plots within the excellent Cru of Morgon in Beaujolais.
Since 2011, Patrice has undertaken a vast land reclamation program to restore the parcels through sustainable vineyard management. The vines of this 13-hectare estate are farmed sustainably, and harvest is done by hand to preserve the integrity of the fruit before vinification. Teaming up in 2013 with oenologist and white burgundy expert Jean-Baptiste Alinc, the wines are both technically highly competent and beautifully crafted.
