"A beautiful vintage, easy to love." says Philippe. This is all hand-picked and all fermented and matured in older barrels for 12 months then tank for a month. There is lovely generosity, some spiced apple and pineapple character, bread dough and a textural pithy grapefruit nuance. This is a blend of Chassagne and Santenay. You can pay $100 for a Burgundy and not get one this good!
Bourgogne Rouge 2023
I was struck by the lovely almost explosive berry fruit of this young red! It's from Chassagne and Santenay, there is no new oak, but it is 100% oak aged. There is a ripe cherry and crushed strawberry core, and the tannins are not shy for a Bourgogne, making it firm and very well structured. Really, this is rediculously cheap!
