BROVIA
Brovia, a revered name among Barolo cognoscenti, has recently emerged as one of the region's quintessential producers. Though once an underground name the estate's recent achievements have propelled it into the upper ranks of Barolo producers, earning praise from critics like Antonio Galloni and Monica Larner at The Wine Advocate. Brovia’s wines reflect an old-school ethos that spans generations, focusing on traditional methods and expressing some of the best terroirs in the Langhe.
The estate boasts impressive vineyard holdings, including old vines in the top crus of Castiglione Falletto (Rocche, Villero) and Serralunga d’Alba (Brea), which consistently produce wines of profound quality. Outstanding and highly praised examples of Barbera and Dolcetto are also part of the estate's production. Commitment to tradition is evident in its winemaking, with fermentation in cement tanks, aging in oak botti, and bottling without filtration, ensuring pure, expressive wines.
Despite its high quality, Brovia's production remains small and highly sought after, with limited quantities of their flagship Barolo bottlings—Rocche, Villero, and Ca’ Mia—making them hard to find.
2024 TE MATA ESTATE PINOT NOIR
A new review from James Suckling - a reminder of just how good this value-packed Pinot is.
'Vibrant aromas of cherries, wild raspberries, summer strawberries
and citrus peel. The palate is medium-bodied with finely integrated tannins and balanced acidity. Youthful and focused.' 92 points - James Suckling
This is a beautiful, soft and well-fruited pinot with nice nuance and pleasurable plushness. It's classy, especially for this price!
