2025 Hoddles Creek Estate Wines

2025 Chardonnay
Offer: $25.95
"It smells of pears and oyster shells; it tastes of nectarines, grapefruit, cedar-spice and mineral; it finishes with such an emphatic burst of fruit that its quality feels instantly upgraded. How or why this wine is only $26 I do not know. This release will need a bit of time in the bottle to really blossom but the power, structure, length and indeed X-factor place it in rare air once again."

2025 Pinot Noir
Offer: $25.95
"This wine is in its usual good form, offering red and black cherry flavours, five spice notes, flashes of mint and even fennel. It has both composure and drinkability writ large, though the fineness of the tannin and the dryness of the finish lend it, too, a seriousness. There’s an orange and perhaps even a blood orange note to the acidity, and a chalkiness too to the tannin. It’s pretty much impeccable all over."

2019 Heartwines 'Archie' Old-Bush McLaren Vale Grenache
$33 | Offer: $19.90 | $17.90 in Dozens!

"Big man Randall Pollard says "Maslin Sands and organic old bush-vine character! Made by PF at Yangarra, with 2 tonnes of hand-picked fruit, de-stemmed, whole berries, gently plunged with the occasional pump over. Natural ferment, doted over by Shelly Torresan, then put in old barriques.” Blewitt Springs is the appellation.

Excellent Grenache of firm structure and ferrous nature. Ripe raspberry, dried rose, a little spice and clay-like earthiness. It’s firm with dry fine sandy tannin, cherry and other red fruits, a little juicy but not at all sweet or confected, which is a lovely thing. Finish is insistently tannin in the nicest possible way, and long with it. Excellent.

From Pfalz to Australia:
2021 Jülg Rieslings

A cool, celebrated classic vintage: highly elegant, long-lived, and marked by bright acidity and crystalline fruit.

"Wine is made in the vineyard and this ecosystem must be protected. In the cellar, it's as little intervention as possible, as much rest as necessary. Our goal is authenticity: salty, precise, elegant wines." - Johannes Jülg, Winemaker

Johannes is third generation and enthusiastically took over the 20ha estate in 2010, after 7 years of experience working at Keller, Clemens Busch and Clos des Lambrays amongst others. He is an energetic, deep-thinking and enthusiastic vigneron. Jülg rieslings are a masterclass in texture and lithe power. A strong belief in phenolic ripeness and gentle extraction (by feet!), as well as the use of both stainless steel and old oak results in wines of purity and honesty that provide bright expressions of their terroir. Similarities can more easily be drawn with the wines of the Rheinhessen than with the more geographically proximate Alsace.

The 2021's continue to show well, now with enough bottle age to "settle in" and begin to show some of its impressive stuffing. We absolutely encourage you to taste some!

2021 Dorrenbach Erste Lage / 1er Cru Springberg Riesling Trocken $109 | Offer: $69

"Clear, delicately smoky citrus and stone-fruit nose with yeasty, herbal and floral aromas, minerality and a little dark berry fruit. Quite sweet, finely juicy fruit, lively acidity, some grip, herbal, yeasty and mineral tones, hints of smokiness, pronounced salinity, touches of orange blossom and a good to very good finish."
