'The 2024 Mâcon-Milly-Lamartine Montagne de Cra had been bottled two weeks prior to my visit. Though picked one week later than the 2023, it has lower alcohol (11.8%). It does not possess the 2023's intensity on the nose, but is more neutral in style with just a light pineapple note in the background. The palate is well balanced and fresh with gentle grip, showing a little more complexity and salinity than the previous vintage. 'Fresh and agreeably bright aromas include those of poached pear, apple and a pretty floral top note. The sleek and again, well-detailed middle weight flavors are almost aggressively mineral-driven while displaying fine length if only average depth on the clean, dry and mildly austere finale.
