Creamy and layered with a clean sweep of salinity framing flavours of golden apple, yellow plum, green almond and preserved lemon, plus fragrant hints of broom and wild thyme. Expands nicely on the palate but shows good tension and zesty drive through the racy finish. Wine Spectator 94 Points

Sourced from Marco’s 2 ha of vines within the Montalto district of Biancavilla, on the southern slopes of Etna. Marco has been looking at sites for years, making wine for friends, tasting grapes, analysing soils and firmly believes in this new site (first vintage was 2019) as being supremely suitable for whites. The vineyard sits at around 900m ASL, mitigating the effect of the warmer air blowing in from the south. The vines are en gobelet or bush vines, aged between 50 and 70 years old, grown in deep volcanic ash soils. After a light pressing, fermentation is done at low temperatures in stainless steel, no Malo, with aging in steel for 9 months on lees. Pure yellow stone fruit, a hint of exotic frutis  with a touch of smokey reduction and salt spray lemon. Powerful and full, but still lifted and airy. Distributor Notes
