2021 Narjoux Normand Bourgogne Pinot Noir 750Ml Bottle

This has an arresting, very dark and youthful colour, in fact, it's probably the deepest and most concentrated Bourgogne Rouge that I’ve ever tasted, although the Faiveley Mercureys of late have been very dense also. Deep, red berry, spice and liquorice, rich and supple, plump and balanced. The gentle caressing tannins frame the palate beautifully but in a youthfully assertive way. This is from a 6.6ha plot of vines aged between 10-50yo, at approximately 300mts. The vines have a near perfect SE exposition and the ripe grapes are totally destemmed, and the wine aged for 12 months in 3-6yo barrels. Being so dense, this is well suited to cellaring for 5-10 years, but also to be served with hearty casseroles now. - Randall
