2022 Terres de Velle Bourgogne Cote d'Or Chardonnay 750ml

This is a signature wine, as in it’s pure, powerful and structurally firm; it has an impression of doughy lees, pure pear and pineapple fruit, but a not wanting to move; statuesque for a Bourgogne. It’s from 2 plots; 1 in Corpeau (30yo on deep soil), and 1 in the plot of Les Pellans which is ½ villages and ½ Bourgogne. Pellans, with the 60yo vines, basks alongside 1er Cru Charmes and is a small sliver of vines well above the Route Nationale. This is tickled up with barrel fermentation and 10% new oak. The wine is tightly packed, gently spicy, deeply flavoured and tight for a Bourgogne.
