Purchased in 1968 and replanted in 1992, this steep 1ha parcel, just above the Moreau cellar, has a south-eastern exposition with soil structure and composition comparable to the Cote de Nuits. It is 260-290 mt above sea level so has very cool nights during the ripening months giving a better acidity than 1er Cru Beauregard. “You can feel the limestone minerality on the palate” he says. and it is a wine with good “charpenté” or structure, and it can be a little closed when young. Of course, it still has the stamp of fleshy richness and sweet opulent red-fruits.
