PRE-ARRIVAL 2023 Fontaine-Gagnard Chassagne-Montrachet Blanc 1500ml MAGNUM

This is rom 7 parcels of old vines planted between 1960 and 1989. The biggest one just near Criots Grand Cru, and another significant contributor just below Chenevottes. This has impressive richness, spiced pineapple fruit, chewey and concentrated palate, a perfect twang of oak and nice length.

'Smoky aromas of various white orchard fruit, discreet citrus and a whiff of rosemary oil are trimmed in just enough wood to notice. There is good volume and solid density to the plump, round and delicious middle weight flavors that display good if not truly special length on the balanced, clean and dry finale. '[..] There is a pleasant reduction at play here. It's quite tensile with yellow fruit and light crushed stone scents. The palate is well balanced with a keen line of acidity, very pure with a slightly richer, honeyed finish that is irresistible. I see this having wide commercial appeal.'
