2020 Ziereisen Weisser Burgunder 750Ml Bottle

Pinot blanc, organic farmed, low input made, from not far off Switzerland in a unique patch of Germany. These wines should be on your radar. I’ve seen some lower ball reviews of this wine, but I reckon it’s way better than most see it – it nails the brief of minerality and deliciousness. And screw cap.

It’s a delight from hello. Saline, briny, fresh and minerally expression of white wine, lots of tonic water and lime juice going on, green apple. Love all this. Waxy texture, a crispness and saltiness to finish and yet a talc-like pucker too. Thank you! So refreshing. So succulent. Ludicrously good. 94 points - Mike Bennie, The Wine Front

"Aged in large, traditional oak casks for 20 months, the 2020 Weisser Burgunder shows a clear and fresh nose with white fruit and lemon juice aromas intermingled with tonic and saline notes. Organic grapes from southern Baden near Switzerland and France. Crushed grapes are macerated then pressed hard to give good phenolic texture and complexity. Aged in large old oak.
