The 2022 Riesling Hallgartener Schönhell Grosses Gewächs is made from 40-50-year-old vines in this southwest-facing, gently sloping site that did not suffer any water stress in 2022. It was made completely in stainless steel. Gentle lift on the nose subsumes dried apple peel, a touch of chamomile and dried lemon zest, along with yeasty smoothness. The palate is bright, clear, fine and bundled.
