2014 Stella di Campalto Rosso di Montalcino MAGNUM

93+ points! Light, fine expression of Sangiovese, almost like Burgundy in a way. Red fruit, smoke and dried herb, some floral notes and spice. Its acidity drives it more than the lightly dusty tannin, keeping fresh, though the flavours are largely autumnal, with a pleasing sense of forest floor decay over spiced strawberry. Finish has a little grip, and it runs pretty long. Very discreet, and not showy, although you may expect a bit more lightning and thunder at the price. Should age well. Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
