"There’s ample flavour and texture here but the length of this wine is wow. It tastes of grilled peaches, green pineapple, straw, herbs and cedarwood. There’s real flavour here, and a creaminess to the texture, but there’s a real cut to the wine as well. It arguably needs a bit of time to soften. It thrusts its way through the finish, drawing flavour along with it. That sounds like a Meursault note, doesn't it? Winemaker Matt Holmes and frontman Gus Pollard, are happy about this wine, from a very low yielding and "cooler" year. In 30% of the barrels the MLF was blocked, giving the wine more "verve" and it has all the normal Bannockburn power but less "buttery" and "ripe pineapple" character than usual. The texture, richness and "tension with a certain slipperiness" are all impressive.
