Pre-Arrival 2015 Chateau Cissac Haut Medoc Cru Bourgeois 750Ml Bottle
Regular price $64.0093 points - Roger Voss, The Wine Enthusiast
This is a structured wine, beautifully perfumed with richly tannic black fruits. It comes from a large 111-acre estate in the village of the same name. Made to age with firm tannins and layers of sumptuous fruit over firm wood aging, the wine will mature slowly. Drink from 2024.

The 2015 Cissac is a blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot cropped at 36HI/Ha. It has a clean and fresh bouquet - lifted blackberry and wild hedgerow aromas, well integrated new oak and gaining intensity in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, quite fresh and detailed with a classic, graphite-tinged second half that begs you back for another sip. This replicates its satisfying performance at last year's Cru Bourgeois tasting.
90 points - Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate
Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois annual tasting, the 2015 Cissac (which curiously I did not taste during en primeur) has a well-defined bouquet with lifted blackberry and undergrowth notes. I would have preferred more intensity but it is charming and precise. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, quite edgy in style with crisp tannins and vivid black, cedar-infused fruit toward the finish. Enjoy this Cissac over the next decade.
The juice is fermented in huge wooden vats but is then aged in 225-litre oak barrels, 40% of which are new. With the vineyard established on a bed of gravel over a limestone base, it is unsurprising to see such a predominance of Cabernet Sauvignon and the style of the wine mirrors this, as it is made in a classic Medoc style.
