This is all from Heerkretz and Hollberg (grand cru sites) and is fermented in 60% barrels and 40% steel (to preserve some tightness) and shows more apricot fruit and more power than the Estate wine.

The 2023 Riesling Siefersheim Porphyr was made chiefly from grapes grown in the topmost reaches of the east Facing Heerkretz site. Aromatic bergamot plunges into creamy apricot on the nose, all subtle yet really clear. The palate is a picture of juiciness, brilliance and clarity, with beautifully ripe acidity and phenolics that remind of nectarine skin. Juicier than usual, but also salty and animating, this is absolutely fresh and vibrant. (Bone-dry)
