The 2026 growing season provided almost perfect conditions leading into harvest, with slow and steady ripening setting the stage for an outstanding year for Riesling. Vintage began on 5 March, four weeks later than 2025, before almost 90mm of rain fell in just 48 hours.
Through careful vineyard management and quick decision-making in the winery, John and the Rieslingfreak team have delivered what they describe as some of the purest expressions of Riesling they have ever seen - a remarkable collection defined by refined elegance, purity, power and poise.
This No.12 is an ultra-refined and intensely perfumed, with kaffir lime, kiwifruit, dragonfruit and rose petals alongside wet slate and limestone minerality. Laser-focused and persistent.
