The Domaine de l’Aste Bourgogne is all from the Santenay commune, but on a cooler, more westerly slope, so in the warmer vintages of late the grapes from this plot have been maintaining acidity and freshness. It’s 100% hand-picked, barrel aged, and otherwise treated the same way as David’s 1er Crus. The crop is kept low not by pruning-by-numbers, that David finds elicits the opposite result, This is a classically styled highly perfumed, red-fruited and vibrantly delicious red. These vines were mostly planted in the 60's by David's grandfather. This is one of the most amazing value Bourgogne level wines available anywhere!
