This plot mid-slope next to the cellar, has some of the ancient stone wall (from the 14th century) intact, but the rest has been fenced in largely to keep the Oussant (miniature) sheep in when they are grazing. There is more destemmed fruit in this cuvée and more beautiful richness and firmness from the deeper soils (which are mostly magmatic). The colour and density of this 2022 are impressive, and Sonja says she likes “the spicy character, depth and aromatic intensity of red berries.”
