The 2022 reds range from Domain Simon Bize & Fils is anticipated to be a wonderful, warm vintage that produced wines with freshness. Chisa Bize and winemaker Eric Pignal assert that with this yield, the "1er crus look like grand crus." Further, Jasper Morris has gone on record in his book Inside Burgundy noting that “these are high class wines… Nor do you have to buy the grand crus to get real excitement here…”

Given the excitement around both domaine and this particular vintage, we have curated a 6-pack bundle featuring each of the reds (sans grand cru, although you might be fooled!). The bundle includes:

2022 Simon Bize Bourgogne Rouge "Les Perrieres"
Vines planted across 1.8ha in 1971 and 1974. "A serious Bourgogne, Bize's Perrières opens in the glass to reveal a pretty bouquet of red and black cherries, pot pourri and subtle spice. This is followed by a deep, full-bodied palate that is quite powerful for its level, with a nice core of fruit and fine tannins. Quite a ripe rendition of this dependably excellent cuvée."
89pts. - William Kelley, Decanter
.
2022 Simon Bize Savigny-Les-Beaune Rouge
A cuvée blending of parcels across 3.9ha planted between 1965 and 1978 situated on the right bank of the Rhoin river. Tasted in the cellar in March last year, this is a riot of raspberry, sappy balsam and is very pretty, full flavoured, fine and well textured.
"Mid pink to crimson. The bouquet is deliciously perfumed, the floral side of red berry fruit, with some raspberries showing through on the palate behind. Very pure, crisp acidity, light white pepper, now some cherry blossom. Very lovely in a light and fine style, tip-top for a village. An outstanding wine in its category - 5 stars!" - Jasper Morris, 89-91. Inside Burgundy

2022 Simon Bize Savigny-Les-Beaune "Grands Liards"
From vines planted in 1939, 1950, and 1979, ‘...Aux Grands Liards’ is perfumed and delicious, with highly rose petal with red berries, sandalwood and sweet spices. "The 2022 Savigny-les-Beaune Les Grands Liards has a beguiling nose: dark berry fruit, cranberry, hints of iris floor and a light potpourri scent. Wonderful definition. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly powdery tannins at the moment. It offers crisp and vivacious dark berry fruit laced with Earl Grey, gently fanning out towards a refined and cohesive finish. Superb." 91-93 Pts. -
"Grand Liards 2022  is a 1er cru in all but name."  Neil Martin, Vinous

2022 Simon Bize Savigny 1er Cru Les Fournaux
With vines selectively planted over 1ha in 1962 and 1963, "...the 2022 Savigny-les-Beaune Les Fournaux 1er Cru is more closed on the nose compared to the Grands Liards, yet it is still well-defined with black plum and bilberry fruit, intermingling with sous-bois and a touch of crushed stone. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins. It's an elegant Savigny, not powerful, but armed with reassuring persistence on the white pepper tinged finish. Lovely." 91-93 Pts. - Neil Martin, Vinous.

2022 Simon Bize Savigny 1er Cru Les Marconnets
Vines planted in 1973 across .6ha on the right bank of the Rhoin river. "The 2022 Savigny-les-Beaune Les Maconnets 1er Cru is a little more fruit-driven on the nose than Bize's other cuvees, offering lifted blueberry and bilberry scents and hints of wild heather. The medium bodied palate has fine-grain tannins, a little riper than the Les Fournaux. There's more flesh yet with plenty of structure exerting a huge grip, rendering this approachable but with the ability to age in bottle. Classic Pinot Noir.  92-94pts. Neil Martin, Vinous.

2022 Simon Bize Savigny 1er Cru Aux Vergelesses Rouge
This is a pseudo-grand cru site, and the best in Savigny. It even looks majestic, like it should be a grand cru. These vines are very old, planted in the 30s, 40s, 50,s and 70s! Interestingly one of the late Patrick Bize's first jobs when he took over, was to plant the 70's portion to add to his father and grandfathers plantings.  "The 2022 Savigny-les-Beaune Aux Vergelesses 1er Cru has a complex and perhaps cerebral nose: dark berry fruit, black pepper, green tea and light scents of damp moss/forest floor. This unfurls beautifully in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins framing gorgeous dark berry fruit, a little peppery in style, quintessentially Savigny with a very persistent finish. Everything you want from s Savigny Premier Cru (and more). 93-95 Pts. - Neal Martin, Vinous
