2021 Domaine de l'Aste Santenay Rouge
The de l'Aste comes from 3 plots, close to the Chassagne Montrachet border. 0.7 ha of the 0.9 ha total comes from a plot called Champs Claude which sits adjacent to 1er Cru Morgeot. This red emphasises the highly perfumed floral and berry compote aromas and fleshy, juicy palate richness that David's wines have. It's lovely and long, expansive and pure pleasure. It drinks well now and will cellar beautifully for 5 or 10 years too. Cheers, Randall.

"The 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet villages from Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard is beautifully floral this year. The nose wafts from the glass in a classy mix of pear, fresh pineapple, chalky soil tones, acacia and apple blossoms and just a touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is bright, complex and full, with lovely depth at the core, fine soil signature and grip, zesty acids and a long, focused and beautifully balanced finish. 2023-2045+." 91Pts - John Gilman, Views from the Cellar
