2022 Domaine Gueguen Chablis Vieilles Vignes 750ml Bottle
Regular price $81.00 Sale price $73.00The vines in this two-hectare plot were planted by Céline’s father in 1975. These almost 50-year-old vines face south and are rooted in the Kimmeridgian soils around the villages of Chichée and Préhy. The site is one of the lowest-yielding in the Gueguen stable. The fruit was pressed to tank for fermentation, followed by full malolactic conversion and six months’ maturation on lees.
"More direct, quite a linear but properly mineral nose with some faint herbed complexity – good cooking herbs and slowly more floral! Really wide over the palate – panoramic – growing more juicy and even a little zesty – zesty is rarer in 2022 than in 2021." - Bill Nanson, The Burgundy Report
“A fine clear translucent colour. Not much bouquet first up. This has real concentration on the palate then youthful bitterness to finish. Some lemon notes, quite mineral, more tension than the preceding 2022s.” 90 points – Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy
