'1314 Chardonnay is made from a blend of fruit from our established vineyards, from the oldest vines planted in 1976 through to the youngest planting in 2016. Fermentation took place with wild yeast in French oak hogsheads, around 10% of which were new. Approximately 85% of the wine went through malolactic fermentation. It rested on lees, unstirred, for 7 months before blending and bottling.' Angus Pollard, Bannockburn 2025
This has a great quality, finesse, generosity, nice mineral dryness and a cashew notes and a nice little touch of yeasty / brioche character from the barrel ageing on yeast lees. It’s not a “fat” style and it has lovely balanced acidity giving a classy wine. Randall
