"Clay and limestone at the bottom of the slope and chalk on top. 80-year-old vines. North facing. Slower to mature than the Chêne Vert. Deep cherry red. Dark-red fruit but also a little smoky and with darker graphite notes. Fine peppery aroma soars from the glass even with this darker profile. Super-elegant tannins, finesse as well as fine structure. Long and beautiful and so fresh. 17.5/20" - Julia Harding MW, Jancis Robinson
"Solid, with a broad, fleshy feel to the mix of smoldering bay leaf, tobacco and warm dark olive notes that meld steadily with a core of gently steeped red currant and damson plum fruit. 92 points" - Wine Spectator
