“On this visit I met with de Courcel who, like Michel Lafarge (see below), compared the style of 2015 to that of 1929 while noting that "2015 might be greater still. In all my years of making wine in Burgundy I have never seen such beautiful fruit with the possible exception of 2005. The tiny yields made for dense but extremely well-balanced wine that could last for a century or more… I am very confident that those consumers that have the patience to cellar the 2015s until maturity will ultimately be exceptionally happy in having done so." Confuron noted that all of the wines reviewed below were vinified by him with 100% whole clusters.” Burghound.com.

Although we can’t find scores for this specific wine, the greatness of the vintage and the marvellous, “almost Grand Cru” Vaucrains site are great guarantees. “The very heart of the Premiers Crus, where the structure of the soil is light and produces wines which are at the same time well-structured and generous.  Vinification : after a whole bunch fermentation for two weeks, the red wines are aged in wooden casks in our cellars of the XVth century for a period of 15 to 18 months. Moderate proportion of new oak. Bright ruby colour. Intense aromas of ripe red berries (cherry) liquorice and spices. Subtle vanilla note. Well-balanced and complex. Tight and delicate texture. Elegant tannins. Very pure fruit. Long and spicy finish.” Winemaker notes.
