"I can’t think of a better Bannockburn chardonnay ever! The cool (but more consistent than 2020 and 2021) 2022 season gave a long optimal picking window that produced grapes with lovely ripeness and wines with great vibrancy and energy. This 2022 is such a powerful wine with firm punchy texture along with great fruit and acid carry, that I was surprised. It's the kind of wine which doesn't require too much thought to enjoy; but if you take a moment to think about the depth, complexity of flavour and texture, and the power, then you are rewarded immensely. This is 100% estate grown fruit, hand picked, from vines planted between 1976 and 2016. It’s 100% whole bunch pressed and barrel fermented. Vigneron Matt Holmes let 70% go through malo fermentation to give a wine with pulsation acidity and fruit. It’s super impressive!" - Randall
