2022 Bendito Destino Albillo Mayor 'Baños El Arenal' 750ml Bottle

A remarkable single-vineyard Albillo from Baños de Valdearados, planted in 1910 on pure limestone at 920 m. Goblet-trained and east-facing, the 0.3-ha site is owned by three young brothers and cultivated by Bendito Destino. In 2022, just two barrels were made. The wine shows exceptional density and drive, with vibrant acidity, a strikingly low pH of 3.12, and real elegance. Frosts in 2023 and 2024 halted further production, making the 2022 release especially rare. This is deep in colour with some spiced toffee apple oxidative notes that are pleasing, but also some savory reduction. It's a powerful foot-stomped white wine that I casn't wait to taste again this week!
